Friendship, Poetry, Quote of the Day

A Time To Talk–World Poetry Day, March 21, 2023

When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.–Robert Frost

Our lives are punctuated, sometimes sweetly, all too often rudely or cruelly, with reminders of how precious others are to us.

Let us cherish our friends, tell those we love of our affection, be there for those who need us, and depend on those we need ourselves.

Let us not wait until it is too late.

Let us find time for each other.

Let us be friends.

God bless my friends.
