No Kings? Grow Up Already!

Really, righteous people.  If what you want to do is endanger yourselves (you keep on saying that you feel endangered, because–what else–Trump!) by bravely stepping up to the line and perhaps even crossing it, I should have thought by now you’d have noticed that you’ve felt no consequences–ever–for doing so.

Just like Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes (or wherever it was) a few years ago, being celebrated for her bravery in “standing up and SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER!” you are ridiculous.

If you want to do something brave, travel to Tehran, stand up in the middle of Imam Khomeini Square, and speak up in defense of women’s equality rights, and in support of Mahsa Amini in an extremist Islamic country.

Or go to Maiduguri in Northern Nigeria, and speak out, as a Christian, against the Muslim Boko Haram and its intentional murdering of tens of thousands of Nigerian Christians.  Full disclosure: the Maiduguri I knew as a child was a beautiful city, much like the Birmingham, UK I knew as a child. That something has gone wrong, in both places,  between then and now is a bug, not a feature.

After that, perhaps journey to Darfur, and see what’s going on there, and what you can do to stop the genocide–Muslim on Muslim–that’s been ongoing for decades. Full disclosure: My father, who had impeccable and decades-long credentials in the foreign-policy arena used to speak of the 1950s and early 1960s Sudan as “role models of liberal, cultured and modernising Islam.”  Go figure.

And there’s always Afghanistan.  A country the West’s allies abandoned, and those whose women the West forsook.

Don’t make me laugh.

Tens of thousands of you at a time, many of you elderly hippies paid to demonstrate by Democrat cash-shovellers, prancing about in the streets, while none of you fear being thrust aside, being jailed, being shot, being chucked into solitary confinement, or being shut down or punished for doing so??

And you think life in these United States in 2025 is so bloody awful?

Glory be.  Get over yourselves, why doncha?  Book a ticket to one of the places I’ve mentioned above and try again.
