Oh, my giddy aunt. Such excitement in the US this evening. Joe Biden was to “speak” at 7:45pm Eastern time (12:45GMT). Could he be resigning? Or at the very least, announcing that he wasn’t going to run for President again later this year?
Oh, pleeze, pleeze, pleeze, God. Let it be true.
Umm. No.
Ever since I got rid of my satellite TV (500 channels, and nothing on any of them that I wanted to watch, except in exigent circumstances) I’ve been unable to watch much of anything live in real time. Truth be told, I haven’t found it to be much of a loss, tonight included.
Still, when I am interested enough to be concerned about this or that, I usually check the Telegraph website for its live-feed reports.
So far, they’re going as follows:
Biden “pleased” with outcome of report [the one which declined to bring charges against him for his handling of classified material]
Biden says “shortage of evidence” he willfully retained classified documents [in which Biden distances himself from Trump]
Biden on remembering son’s death: “It’s none of your damn business.” [So never mind if I get it wrong or make things up.]
“That is your judgment,” Biden shouts to reporters as he responds to age questions.
Biden blames staff for classified documents in garage. [Sure. Wouldn’t you?]
Biden calls Israel’s Gaza response “over the top.”
That brings us up to 8:34pm on Thursday, February 8.
Not sure I need to hear/see/read any more.
I expect things will continue as I expect things to continue. That’s because I’m fairly rational, because I’ve spent most of my life in Realville and because–as a result–I don’t indulge much in fantastical or wishful thinking.
Anyone who’s so moronically stupid as to think the Democrat party thinks it’s on the ropes needs to wise up and smell the coffee. And then–and only then–get to work. Unless you want to lose the next election too.
