Today, February 2, 2023, I’m celebrating Candlemas Day, the one on which Christians marvel at the return of light, protection, and prosperity, that which wards off death, evil, and end times.
Let us today bless candles in church for distribution to the congregation.
Or, if that’s a bridge too far, let us at least celebrate the first step out of the winter darkness.
I say this as a person who’s only about a two-hour drive away from ground-zero, ground-hog.
God bless you, Phil. I see many of your brothers and cousins around here every day. I never wish you–or them–any ill. And I hope that’s reciprocal. Please stop doing stupid things. And advise your relatives accordingly.
