Conservatives: Please Stop With the Grocery Shopping

It didn’t work for George W. Bush in 1992. (Even the Washington Post seems to have understood this, after the fact.)

It didn’t work for Mehmet Oz (an incredibly flawed candidate, for reasons having nothing to do with his grocery shopping) in 2022.

And it’s not going to work for Tucker Carlson, in Moscow, in 2024.

For crying out loud, people.

Just stop it.

Go to Walmart.  Or Aldi’s.  Or Gabes.  Or Big Lots.  Or one or another of the places that your fellow citizens regularly shop, in order to try to make ends meet.  Do that for a month or two, and perhaps you’ll start to figure things out.

We’re not you.  When are you going to begin to understand that?

  1. I remember when Obama did likewise, trying to sound sympathetic to rising grocery bills and trying to appear “working man”…. until he talked about expensive Arugula. I remember thinking “How many of your constituents even KNOW what that is? Ya couldn’t have said ‘Head of lettuce’ instead?”

They just don’t live anywhere near the real world.
